Sean Kanu, the son of Nigerian football legend Kanu Nwankwo, has signed his first professional contract with Polish third-tier side Górnik Polkowice, Soccernet.ng reports.
This marks the beginning of a professional journey for the 19-year-old who is expected to shine more than his father did at his prime.
Having honed his skills in various academies, including Watford FC’s youth system in England, the young forward is now set to make his mark in Poland’s competitive football scene.

With a strong footballing pedigree, Sean aims to carve out his own path while following in the footsteps of his father, who enjoyed a storied career with top European clubs such as Ajax, Portsmouth, and Arsenal.
Following his unveiling, Sean’s mother took to social media to express her pride and excitement over her son’s achievement.
“Congratulations son, Sean Kanu. You have put in so much work and dedication to your craft, and I am so proud of you. More goals up in front,” she wrote.

It would also be recalled that Sean featured in a throwback “Kanu Nkwankwo and Sons” video, which was enormously popular, and succeeded the storied “Papilo” Peak Milk Video.

In the video, Sean talked about how his father has made him proud by winning numerous awards and records, leading the Nigerian team to an Olympic victory by scoring the game-winning goal in their 4-3 semi-final victory over Brazil, and winning African Best Footballer of the Year in the same year.
As said in the video, Kanu gives his kid a motivating speech in which he explains that his determination helped him beat the sickness and accomplish much more.
Starting his chapter with Górnik Polkowice, Sean Kanu will be looking to make an impact and establish himself just like his father did.
