Bitesize Prediction: Aveley vs Salisbury – 03/03/25

Soccer

Competition: National League South

Market: Both teams to score

Odds: 7/10 @ BetUS

Two sides who find themselves scrapping it out at the foot of the National League South table, Aveley will welcome Salisbury to Essex on Monday night.

Starting with the hosts, while Aveley might have opened up the 2024/25 campaign with their sights set on mounting another play-off charge, the Millers have endeared a National League South nightmare this time around. Sat rock-bottom of the table and shockingly pencilled in as a landslide relegation contender this year, Danny Scopes’ camp open Monday’s showdown sat 10 points adrift of safety. Last seen over the weekend slumping to a 2-1 loss at home against Hampton & Richmond, the Essex-based outfit have lost each of their previous four appearances by an aggregate score of 11-3. Hit with a woeful 4-1 drumming at the hands of Weymouth last month, Aveley have also registered just three points from any of their last eight National League South matchups. Likewise, already shipping 65 goals so far this season, it should also be highlighted that the Blues hold the third-worst defensive tally in the division.

As for the visitors, although Salisbury might have only made their National League South return this season, the Whites are sat in the driving seat to keep hold of their sixth-tier status in 2025. However, despite opening Monday’s trip to Essex holding a four-point buffer over the drop zone, Brian Dutton’s men are enduring their own recent struggle. Last seen over the weekend suffering a late collapse as they eventually fell to an action-packed 3-2 loss away at play-off contenders Maidstone, the former Walsall boss has seen his squad lose each of their previous three appearances by an aggregate score of 8-5. In fact, mustering just a sole point from any of their last five National League South outings, the Wiltshire-based outfit have shown some glaring defensive struggles. Including a 3-1 defeat at home against Chelmsford on February 15th, Salisbury have conceded 13 goals on their five-match winless rut.

Bet: Both teams to score at Aveley vs Salisbury 7/10 for Monday’s National League South matchup @ BetUS
