Lady criticizes Nollywood actors and producers on YouTube for overusing the same actors

A popular social media personality, Lizzy Adebayo, has publicly criticized Nollywood actors and producers on YouTube, accusing them of repeatedly casting the same actors and producing movies of low quality.

In a video shared on her TikTok page, Lizzy expressed her frustration, highlighting how movie producers often rely on the same faces in nearly every movie they produce, while failing to improve production standards or utilize better resources. She argued that this has resulted in monotonous and uninspiring content.

She lamented, “Abeg oh, all these YouTube actors and producers, this 2025, abeg make una change. Una dey waste our data, una dey waste our wifi for rubbish. Na money we take dey subscribe. All una movie the same, the same face, una no dey change?

Ruth Kadiri with Deza the Great, Sam Maurice, and Sonia Uche, dem wan abuse their face finish for movie.”

Lizzy went on to compare the current Nollywood industry to its earlier days, emphasizing that the older Nollywood era produced movies with deeper moral lessons and better storytelling. She suggested that the industry has lost some of its original charm and values, which she believes are crucial for impactful filmmaking.

The TikTok influencer urged filmmakers to focus more on producing high-quality content instead of churning out numerous mediocre movies. She stressed the importance of prioritizing quality over quantity to maintain the audience’s trust and respect.

Lizzy’s video has sparked widespread discussions across social media platforms, with many viewers sharing their own frustrations and echoing her sentiments about the current state of Nollywood YouTube movies.
