Super Eagles forward Nathan Tella has expressed his disappointment at Bayer Leverkusen’s goalless draw against Bayern Munich at BayArena on Saturday, Soccernet.ng reports.

Tella started for Die Werkself when they welcomed Bayern Munich for the return leg of their Bundesliga clash. Bayer Leverkusen dominated the entire encounter, keeping 56 percent of the possession.

They were very active in the final third, registering 15 goal attempts compared to Bayern Munich’s two. The reigning Bundesliga champions were quite unlucky on the night as they hit the woodwork twice.

Super Eagles forward Tella was lively as he had six goal attempts and struck the woodwork once. After the game, the Nigeria international expressed his dissatisfaction with the result. He believes his side deserved more than a point.

“It’s frustrating not to get the three points. But as a team, we can be proud of how we played. I think we were the best team,” Tella said.

“If we had scored a goal, we would have underlined our dominance. Unfortunately, some games are like that, you don’t manage to score.”

The result means that Bayern Munich remains at the top of the Bundesliga, while Bayer Leverkusen is closely followed in second place.

With  12 games left until the end of the campaign, Xabi Alonso’s men have a tough task ahead. In fact, if they slack, Eintracht Frankfurt could displace them in second.

Bayer Leverkusen’s next game is a fixture at Holstein Kiel. With their quality, they should he able to grab all three points.
