Nottingham Forest head coach reveals club stance on Ola Aina’s contract

Soccer

Nottingham Forest head coach, Nuno Espirito Santo, is confident his side will keep Super Eagles defender, Ola Aina, at the City Ground beyond this summer, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 28-year-old joined the Reds on a free deal from Torino in the summer of 2023 and quickly rose to be a cult hero at the club. His brilliant form has seen him become one of the best full-backs in the English top-flight this season.

Aina’s contract with the two-time UEFA Champions League winners runs out this summer, and there is interest from top European clubs in AC Milan and Manchester City.

Nottingham Forest boss, Nuno Espirito Santo, is unbothered about the contract situation of the former Chelsea man, maintaining assurance everything will be alright.

“I think so. Things are going well. I am positive and confident everything is going to be solved,” the former Tottenham Hotspur manager said in quotes revealed by UK Sports.

Quizzed about why his side didn’t sign a centre-forward in the transfer market, Nuno maintained his aloofness, revealing he doesn’t worry about variables.

“I don’t have to think about things when they don’t happen. When things happen, then we have to find solutions. That is what is important for us regarding the depth of our squad – we have solutions. It will be better if we keep everyone healthy and available because I think we can compete in both competitions until the end of the season, but we don’t operate on ‘ifs’. The reality is I think we have a balanced and good squad,” the former Wolverhampton Wanderers coach concluded.
