Two of the EFL Championship promotion chasers will meet midweek at Carrow Road.
Josh Sargent and the rest of the Canaries welcome Brenden Aaronson and Leeds United to town. Sargent continued his fight back to full fitness, coming off the bench and playing 26 minutes in Saturday’s 2-0 loss at Sheffield United. The U.S. men’s national team striker missed over two months through injury but is back and ready to play a role in Norwich’s promotion chase.
Aaronson has remained an important player in Daniel Farke’s squad this season, logging seven goals and two assists in EFL Championship action. The USMNT midfielder recently logged 89 minutes in Leeds’ 3-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday. However, a slight ankle knock forced Aaronson off the pitch before the final whistle and Farke confirmed he might be a game-time decision.
“It looked okay today,” Farke told reporters. “He got a hit against his ankle. It will be a late call with him. Nothing major so far to confirm, but a late decision if he is available or not. Carefully optimistic, but it still will be a late decision.”
Leeds United won two of its four head-to-head meetings with Norwich City last season including eliminating the Canaries from the promotion playoffs.
Elsewhere, Weston McKennie and Juventus visit Club Brugge. Ricardo Pepi and PSV take on Red Star Belgrade. Tanner Tessmann and Lyon visit Fenerbahce.
