Davido under fire for supporting Belgium’s pro-sex worker law

Afrobeat sensation Davido has sparked controversy after publicly endorsing Belgium’s new law providing unprecedented benefits to sex workers.

The law, aimed at improving the welfare of sex workers, grants them access to health insurance, sick leave, pensions, maternity leave, safety protection, and formal employment.

Davido’s enthusiastic response to the law, describing it as “groundbreaking,” drew sharp criticism from followers. Many accused the married musician of hypocrisy, alleging that he frequents sex workers despite his marital status.

The backlash comes on the heels of Davido’s recent performance abroad, which was electrifying.
