STILFONTEIN – More alleged illegal miners have emerged from an abandoned mine shaft in Stilfontein in the North West.
They are in a poor state of health after going without food and water.
Supplies were cut off during a Vala Mgodi operation.

Around 4,500 are still underground reportedly in similar conditions.
Despite this, government says its will not send help, but rather smoke them out.
