Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has revealed that he sent a private congratulatory message to Ademola Lookman on Monday night after he won the CAF Player of the Year, Soccernet.ng reports.

On Monday, Lookman became the second Nigerian player in two years to win the CAF Player of the Year award after Osimhen won it last year.

Following his feat, many Super Eagles stars took to social media to congratulate him. However, Osimhen did not post anything about Lookman’s win.

This sparked rumours that the Galatasaray man was in bad terms with Lookman even though the latter recently revealed that they have a strong relationship.

However, Soccernet.ng quelled the rumours with an earlier report that showed Osimhen congratulating Lookman in a pre-recorded video.

Again, on Tuesday night, the 25-year-old revealed that he also sent a private message to Lookman on social media that night. Recall that Galatasaray had a game against Trabzonspor around the period when the award ceremony was taking place, and Osimhen was in duty. It was after the game that he sent Lookman a message.

Osimhen has a good relationship with most Super Eagles players, and has never had an open fallout with them.

The Nigerian striker is currently enjoying a good season with Galatasaray, contributing ten goals and five assists in 14 games.
