Reels Get Better With Instagram’s Latest Rollouts: Find Trends & Receive Gifts

Reels Get Better With Instagram’s Latest Rollouts

Instagram reels announce an array of updates designed to cater to the creators. Insta’s parent company, Meta, declares that the platform is going to include a specific destination for trending hashtags and audio on reels.

Besides, it will expand gifts on reels to more countries and enhance the reel editing tools. The update will also include a series of new metrics.

Leveraging this update, creators will earn access to scroll through the top trending songs. Creators will be able to see how many times the audio has been played and even use it or save it for later just by tapping it.

The new features will also include the exhibition of top trending hashtags and topics on reels, facilitating creators to stay up-to-date with the latest happenings on Insta.

More About the New Features

Creators will be able to access the new trending content destination via their professional dashboards.

  • All they have to do is select the “Check Today’s Reels Trends” alternative.
  • On tapping the option, they will be directed to the “Reels Trends” page showcasing trending hashtags and audio.

According to Instagram, this update will enable users to access trending topics, which, in turn, may help them improve their content.

Besides the trending reel feature, Instagram has announced another update – from here onwards, creators can see which fans have sent them gifts.

By tapping on a newly launched heart icon (located next to the supporter’s profiles), the creators will be able to see and recognize the gift.

Furthermore, the platform has proposed to enhance its gift’s monetizing feature to more countries. This new rollout will be accessible from the United Kingdom, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, France, and Mexico.

Here, it’s worth mentioning that the platform rolled out the beta version of gifts last year to enable fans with access providing their favorite creators with direct monetary support in the form of digital gifts.

The said gifts are available for in-app purchases, and they are available for the virtual currency – ‘Stars.’ The cost of the gifts ranges from ten to several hundred stars.

The Proposed Metrics Upgradation

Instagram has also promised that the platform will allow creators to access the new reel insights so that they can develop a clear understanding of the performance of their content.

With the new total watch time metric, creators will be able to monitor several important statistics like the playtime of a reel, time spent for replays, etc.

The platform also proposed to launch new average watch time metrics, which will capture the average reel play time by dividing watch time by the number of total plays.

For example, if your average watch time is 17 seconds, it means that all the people that watched your content watched it for an average of 17 seconds each.

You can use this info to gauge where the audience’s interest lie and the areas you need to improve to get more views and also increase your average watch time.

Instagram has also taken the initiative to help users edit reels effortlessly. The new feature will combine video clips, stickers, audio, and text on a unified editing screen.

This, in turn, will make alignment easier, allowing the creators to time the right moments more visually.

Instagram has requested users to stay updated about their latest launches as the platform is going to add more exciting tools which will be available globally, and both iOS and Android users will be able to access them.
