Xiaomi is now crowdfunding for its new Soft Air Conditioner 1.5 hp. The latest model is more efficient than its predecessor, with a Class 1 efficiency rating and a 5.27 APF. The smart air conditioner can also dehumidify your room and can be controlled via the Mijia app or with Xiao AI voice commands.
The Xiaomi Soft Air Conditioner 1.5 hp is currently crowdfunding at Xiaomi Youpin in China. The 2022 Red Dot Design award-winning gadget is a more efficient version of the product launched last year. The device is rated Class 1 energy efficient by Chinese standards, with an annual performance factor (APF) of 5.27. The unit is suitable for a room from 16 to 20 m² (~172 to 215 ft²) in size, with 14 blades and 602 micro vents to provide a gentle airflow. The device provides rapid cooling and heating with a 680 m³/h (~24,014 ft³/h) circulation rate.
While Xiaomi lists the new Soft Air Conditioner 1.5 hp as providing a wide range of temperatures, it does not specify the minimum or maximum settings offered. The temperature is shown on an integrated circular LED display, and the gadget can control your room’s humidity. You can control the wind speed, direction and temperature in the Mijia app or with Xiao AI voice commands. Plus, support for the Mijia smart home system enables you to link the gadget to other smart home products.
Other features of the device include a quiet nighttime mode and a self-cleaning ability. Customers in China can currently pledge 2,299 yuan (~US$333) to the campaign to receive the Xiaomi Soft Air Conditioner 1.5 hp. According to the product page, the device will ship in March and will retail for 2,699 yuan (~US$391) in the future. It is unclear whether or when the gadget could launch in other markets.
