Xiaomi has launched the Smart Lightstrip in Europe, now available in Germany. The gadget is a cheaper version of the Smart Lightstrip Pro, with many customizable features, such as dynamic lighting effects. You can also sync the lighting with your music and control the device with Siri, Alexa and Google Assistant voice commands.

The Xiaomi Smart Lightstrip has launched in Europe. So far, the smart home product is only available in Germany. For dynamic ambient lighting, you can choose from various presets for the color LED light, like Rainbow, Aurora and Bonfire. Alternatively, you can create lighting modes with effects like Waves, Pulsing and Cycle. You can also dim the lights to suit your mood and choose from a wide range of colors.

The Lightstrip can sync to your music, with an algorithm allowing you to choose from a range of effects such as Ray, Twinkle and Rhythms. The device is compatible with various smart home systems, including Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa and Google Home. This enables you to link the gadget to many other smart home products and control the light strip with voice commands. Alternatively, you can adjust the light’s settings using the accompanying remote control or the Xiaomi app.

Each light strip measures 2 m (~6.6 ft) long, and you can link it to 1 m (~3.3 ft) extension units to create up to 10 m (~32.8 ft) of light. You can buy the Xiaomi Smart Lightstrip in Germany for €59.99 (~US$64). It is unclear when the device will be available in other markets. A similar product also recently launched in Europe: the Xiaomi Smart Lightstrip Pro, a gadget that produces a softer 3D lighting effect.
