Tecno Phantom V Fold tipped to launch by end of February 2023

Tecno is now believed to launch a device called the Vision V Fold in under a month from now (February 3, 2023). As the name suggests, it is projected to debut as a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 rival, with a very similar design to boot. Then again, it may come with even more cameras than most flexible-display flagships.

According to a new leak, a new foldable smartphone will hit the global market within the last few days of February 2023. No, not the Honor Magic Vs – this new device is rumored to join the pre-existing flagship from a brand new to the market, Tecno.

A real-life version of this OEM’s prototype Phantom Vision V would be too much to hope for at this stage. Its alleged, non-sliding slbling does definitely bend in the middle, at least, according to hands-on images sneaked to the blog MySmartPrice by the leaker Paras Guglani, at least.

Accordingly, the “Phantom V Fold” is allegedly ready to hit the market as a flat-edged device in 2 halves joined by a hinge finished in a vaguely beige (possibly intended to be gold) color. Therefore, it looks most like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4, cover display and all, although its camera hump could have come straight from the X.

Then again, there are some potentially interesting variations in this alleged first-gen Tecno foldable, mostly in the odd circular inclusion in its frame across from its top-mounted speaker grille when closed. Some potential fans of the flagship might hope for a 3.5mm jack – however, it may also, however strangely, be a top-firing extra camera.

Tecno might be in a position to explain its existence on February 28, 2023: the date allegedly chosen to unleash the Phantom V Fold on the Indian market alongside other pre-existing, interesting devices such as the X2 Pro.
